Eligibility Criteria for Nirmal Shramik

Applicants must satisfy all the following conditions to be eligible under Nirman Shramik Kalyan Yojana:

  • The student must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Odisha.
  • The student should be studying in class 6 or higher in a recognised school, college, university, ITI, or diploma institution.
  • The applicant must be a son or daughter of a registered building or construction worker under the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (OB&OCWWB).
  • The worker’s registration with OB&OCWWB must have been continuous for at least one year prior to the submission of the application.
  • The student should have completed the last academic year successfully.

Exclusions

The following conditions disqualify a student from receiving benefits under the scheme:

  • The applications of children whose parents do not have a valid or one-year-active OB&OCWWB registration will not be considered. 
  • Students attending non-recognised institutions are not eligible to apply. 
  • Students who do not meet the minimum attendance of 50% are not allowed to submit applications. 
  • Those students who failed their previous academic exam are not entitled to receive aid.
  • If more than two children in the same family apply, additional children will not be covered under the scheme.

Documents Required for Nirmal Shramik Scheme

Applicants must upload or provide the following documents while applying under the scheme:

  • Aadhaar card of the student.
  • A recent passport-size photograph of the applicant.
  • Mark sheet or certificate from the most recent qualifying examination.
  • Aadhaar card of the registered construction worker (parent).
  • Valid Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) ID card issued to the parent.
  • First page of the parents’ bank passbook showing the account number and IFSC code.
  • College-issued ID card. If unavailable, the student may submit any one of the following:
    • Admission receipt
    • Library card
    • Letter of undertaking from the institution (any person in the institute)
  • Resident certificate confirming domicile in Odisha.
  • Caste certificate (only if applicable).
  • Disability certificate for differently-abled students, where relevant.
  • Any additional documents requested by the Welfare Board during verification.

The Nirman Shramik apply process is completed through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal. The steps are as follows:

  • New applicants must select the Registration option on the State Scholarship Portal. Existing users can directly choose the Login button.

  • The registered email address or mobile number will receive a User ID and password.
  • Enter your login information to access the scholarship application form on the portal.
